Biography

Jyoti Ranjan is a Junior Research Fellow at IISER Berhampur specializing in Structural Biology and Genetic Engineering. Currently investigating protein-protein interactions in neurodegenerative diseases, their research focuses on the role of heat shock proteins in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).

With an MSc in Biotechnology from Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology (2022-2024) and a Bachelor’s in Zoology from Dharanidhar University (2019-2022), Jyoti has developed expertise in bacterial cell culture, co-immunoprecipitation, and molecular biology techniques. Professional experience includes a Master’s thesis project at RGCB’s Neurobiology group under Dr. Rajeeve Sivadasan, investigating HSP mechanisms in ALS pathogenesis.

Achievements include qualifying CSIR-NET (AIR-276), GATE, and GAT-B (AIR-SC 43). Proficient in both experimental techniques and computational analysis, combining skills in protein biochemistry, genetic engineering, and molecular diagnostics to advance understanding of neurodegenerative disorders.
